INTED2024 CONFERENCE

📢 AVIONIC Project news: Participation at INTED2024 Conference

We’re excited to announce our recent participation in the International Technology, Education and Development Conference (INTED2024) conference in Valencia!

Our team was represented by Adina Pavel from POLITEHNICA Bucharest who presented a paper about Adapting educational approaches for sustainable air transport

AVIONIC project is a collaborative effort involving partners from Finland, France, Romania, and Spain, with constant support from representatives in higher education, training, air transport, international, and national authorities. Our activities within AVIONIC include identifying digital and green skills in air transport, sharing knowledge on innovative teaching and learning methods, developing new curricula and educational materials, and creating digital tools for more interactive teaching and learning.

Through comprehensive analysis and research, incorporating insights from various documents, reports, and questionnaires distributed to airport directors, air transport employees, and educators, we’ve uncovered significant shifts and gaps in skills development within the industry. Our study identifies emerging occupations requiring new or updated qualifications, driven by digitalization and sustainable development in air transport. Therefore, the presented paper advocates for the adaptation and reorientation of the entire educational process to effectively respond to these evolving trends. This involves a proactive approach, including changes in training requirements, course redesign, and the incorporation of innovative teaching methods, integrating digital solutions for comprehensive educational transformation.

During the conference, we had the opportunity to disseminate key findings from our project and engage in valuable networking sessions. We explored new trends in education and educational technologies that could enhance our work towards sustainable air transport and we will use all the insights to further develop our ongoing research.  ✈️📚
