The team of UNESCO Chair of National University for Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest participates in Airspace Integration Week Madrid to present the Chair’s results in training next generation of specialists for sustainable air transport. A captivating discussion unfolded at the ACI Leadership and HR Forum, featuring esteemed human resources directors from leading European airports. The focal point of the debate was the insightful research titled “Occupations and Qualifications for Digitalization and Sustainable Development in Air Transport.” This groundbreaking study emerged from the collaborative efforts within the Erasmus project, “Creative Digital Teaching and Learning for Green Air Transport and Logistics,” skillfully coordinated by the UNESCO Chair at UNST POLITEHNICA Bucharest. The forum provided a platform for engaging discourse on the intersection of digitalization and sustainable development in the aviation industry, shedding light on the crucial roles and qualifications necessary for navigating the evolving landscape.
Sorin Eugen Zaharia, director of the UNESCO Chair, recently had the privilege of participating in a highly productive meeting with representatives of airports in Romania and Republic of Moldova, held during the annual conference of the Airports Association of Romania (RAA). This meeting provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the AVIONIC project, an innovative initiative in the field of aviation. A focal point of the discussions centered on the questionnaires of occupations and analysis in air transport used for a feedback on qualifications offered by UNESCO Chair. The meeting served not just as a forum for the exchange of ideas but also marked an important step in strengthening the collaboration between the AVIONIC representatives and the aviation sector in Romania.
